BMW 328- wine red
Eisenach pre-war convertible bearing the sign of the BMW kidney grille
Brandishing a wine red exterior and the unmistakable BMW kidney, the BMW 328 caused a sensation between 1937 and 1939. The distinctive leather straps for secure closure of the bonnet are paired with a windshield that is imprinted with a frame. The BMW 328 itself ranked among the dream sports cars of the late 1930s. Built in Eisenach in 1936, Ernst Jakob Henne presented the two-seater convertible at the Eiffel Race 1936 - on the legendary north loop of the Nürburgring race track. The BMW 328 was available the following year at a price of 7,400 Reichsmark. 464 cars were built until the beginning of 1940. The original perfectly imitates the WIKING model: Measuring a mere 3.9 metres and 1.55 metres in length and width, respectively, the car almost came off as petite.
