Ferguson TE - blue grey
Little Fergie revolutionised agriculture
Rather unimpressive at first sight, this tractor was sold more than half a million times WIKING fashioned their Ferguson TE based on the original, legendary British classic! After all, little Fergie packed a might punch at the time. No wonder that it is deemed a major accomplishment in the history of British tractor design to this day and has become a legend of agriculture outside of Britain as well. Its introduction revolutionised agricultural engineering as it was the first to feature the seminal three-point hitch invented by Ferguson. Its powerlift hydraulics allowed it to lighten the workload in a whole new range of tasks. Today, a remarkable 85% of all tractors produced worldwide are based on Harry Fergusons one-of-a-kind idea. Thanks to the power of 23 / 25 horses delivered by petrol or diesel engines, Fergie became the best-selling tractor of all time between 1946 and 1956. This market success encouraged Harry Ferguson to merge with Massey Harris as early as 1953 giving birth to the powerhouse tractor maker Massey Ferguson. In Germany, little Fergie, rolling off the line 517.649 times, was a rather rare sight, as the tractor market was crowded by a host of strong competitors ranging from Deutz and Fahr to Normag and Hanomag & Co. This fact alone makes Little Grey Fergie a classic that is seldom seen, but always electrifying - mesmerising enthusiasts at tractor conventions all over Germany.
