Tanker truck (MAN) "Esso".
• In the sixties, Esso had surrendered their red dominance
The German Esso AG had finished changing the appearance of their tankers early on in the sixties and had started entrusting private freight forwarders with operating the initially company-owned fleet. In consequence, the legendary cab-over-engine generation of the modern classic years flaunted a pristine white on their fuel and heating oil supply trips in the Federal Republic. This look allows the Esso tanker truck to seamlessly blend in with the contemporary tanker vehicles in WIKING’s extensive display case. This became possible after WIKING added a two-axle tractor unit version of this MAN series with the local traffic cab. To ensure that the series launched in 1967 has contemporary appeal as well, the traditional model makers furnished the vehicle with a new bumper component and a separate radiator grille for the first era.
