The semi-truck with wooden boardwalls for construction traffic
Now launching the fourth rear tipper version already, WIKING is complementing the product with this semi-truck, letting a dump semi-trailer roll into the line-up that became widely popular in the nineteen sixties. Most widely used for construction material, the road trains that used to commonly supply the construction sites slowly but surely lost ground to semi-trucks as they were simply more manoeuvrable and capable of carrying the same heavy loads. While WIKING early on came out with a miniaturised version of the legendary Blumhardt rear tipper, the traditional model makers have now used new moulds to craft a rear tipper whose wooden side panels give off an entirely new look. As a matter of fact, this type of vehicle used to be ubiquitous and dominated the transport of construction materials far into the eighties. The new model comes with skip panels on the rear that are arranged to move freely. These features allow the dump semi-trailer with rear tipper functionality to seamlessly assimilate into the extensive type selection of construction vehicles that WIKING has miniaturised so far the Economic Miracle has been given yet another 1:87 model face.
