The Mexican low-cost airline serving destinations on both American continents attracted quite some attention with the introduction of the first of 22 Sukhoi Superjets in 2013, the first commercial airliner newly developed in Russia since the fall of the Soviet Union. The Covid-19 pandemic has also left its marks on Interjet, only four Superjets currently remaining operational, among them XA-PPY.
