Rosenbauers fire-fighting behemoth: Red Giant at the Dortmund Airport

It was the first vehicle of the latest Panther generation used in Germany, which Rosenbauer was able to hand over to the Dortmund Airport. Adorned with the number 6 on its flanks, the original keeps everyone safe and thus sets a welcome example for the model that is now the largest and most cutting-edge vehicle in WIKING's fleet of airfield fire trucks. The Panther comes with an eco-friendly Euro 6 engine that delivers 750 hp, accelerates the vehicle from 0 to 80 km/h in just 29 seconds and allows the vehicle to reach a top speed of 120 km/h. The red leviathan can hold 12,500 litres of water, 1,500 litres of foam, 250 kilogrammes of powder, and 120 kilogrammes of carbon dioxide (CO2). Powerful pumps housed inside the vehicle ensure that 6,000 litres of extinguishing agent per minute can be expelled through the roof monitor. Its throw distance is approx. 100 metres. The new Panther 6x6 was the replacement for a 17-year-old predecessor at the Dortmund Airport. Thanks to this latest acquisition, the airports fire brigade can now rely on three airfield fire trucks of the Rosenbauer Panther. Rosenbauers latest generation of the Panther 6x6 demonstrates what has changed compared to its revolutionary forerunner. In a bid to afford emergency personnel even greater safety, usability, ease of use, and extinguishing power, Rosenbauer has equipped the new Panther 6×6 with innovative features along with maximum power, safety and functionality. Particular focus was placed on superior driving and vehicle safety, maximum usability and ease of use as well as perfect driving performance. Likewise, the model clearly distinctly accentuates the new outline of the imposing superstructure right behind the futuristic safety cab - all, of course, while reflecting the authentic design of the Dortmund Airport.
