Works fire brigade of chemicals giant swears by the Beetle
From the onset, the works fire brigade of chemical giant Hoechst had placed every confidence in the VW Beetle - all the way to the last version, the 1303. The industrial behemoth from Frankfurt operated a works fire brigade that had always been regarded as the hazmat accident experts among Germany's works fire brigades. When emergencies called, the head of the works fire brigade rushed to the scene in his Beetle, flashing the blue light that was typically placed in the middle of the roof.
