HMS Victory is a 104-gun first-rate ship of the line of the Royal Navy.
She was ordered in 1758, laid down in 1759, and launched in 1765.
With 245 years of service as of 2023, she is the world’s oldest naval vessel still in commission.
Victory is best known for her role as Lord Nelson’s flagship at the
Battle of Trafalgar on 21 October 1805. She additionally served as Keppel’s
flagship at Ushant, Howe’s flagship at Cape Spartel and Jervis’s flagship at Cape St
Vincent.
After 1824, she was relegated to the role of harbour ship.
In 1922, she was moved to a dry dock at Portsmouth, England, and preserved as a
museum ship. She has been the fla gship of the First Sea Lord since October 2012

The frames are all made of solid oak, as well as their beams and interior longitudinal slats.
The covering of the decks and exterior of the hull is beech.
With African walnut and mahogany decorations.
The stem, keel, sternpost and rudder blade are solid mahogany.
The cannons are all solid turned brass.
Its carria ges are solid mahogany and its wheels are also solid wood.
The threads are made of dyed and braided cotton.
The stand is solid oak and the supports are of cast metal and copper plated.
All the ornament ation of the ship; figurehead, columns and various parts of the transom, are delivered plated in antique brass.
The transom and side gardens are made of mahogany wood, linden wood, photo-etched brass parts and cast metal parts with antique
brass finish .

Base support fish and anchors plated in antiqued copper.
The other metal castings are delivered in antique brass.
