Pullman bus gratifies Alpine wanderlust of Bavarians

Whenever travellers in the fifties longed to embark on their first trips abroad, primarily to visit their Alpine neighbours, the Mercedes-Benz O 6600 H was there to take them to their destinations. Back then, the head office of the federal mail service in Munich organised postal trips and satisfied the travel lust of post-era Bavaria in the process. After all, the postal omnibus served as an official means of transport. WIKING fans are well aware of the long model tradition the Pullman bus can look back on and of its status as the Bus of all Buses in the brands chronology. It owes this status to the fact that its miniature was available as early as the days of the unglazed model vehicle series. At the time, the panes were merely painted silver. Following the model overhaul in the nineteen fifties, the omnibus was among the first to receive glazing, preparing it for the future of the glazed series.
