Flatbed tipper (Magirus) "Aug. Alborn".
The men of Aug. Alborn and their round hood
August Alborn, the specialist for heavy goods transports from Dortmund, had their hands full with making reliable deliveries of gigantic loads in the industrial heart of the Ruhr Region. The number of possible applications was legion, and August Alborn carried a wide range of model types as early as the nineteen sixties - and the round hood was one of them. The distinctive vehicle from Ulm was tremendously popular during the reconstruction years after the war. The attractive design of that decade reflected the spirit of the time – and the round hood was part of it. WIKING is releasing the Magirus-Deutz round hood with the August Alborn colours it sported at the time, thus adding yet another edition to this fleet of model flatbed tippers. The flatbed can, naturally be set upright, causing the freely swinging tailgate to open automatically.
