Mercedes-Benz Vito, DHL Elektro.
DHL Worldwide Express was founded in 1969 by Adrian Dalsey, Larry Hillblom and Robert Lynn. The company name is made up of the first letters of the founders' last names. The three founders personally brought shipping documents by plane from San Francisco to Honolulu. This meant that customs clearance of the relevant shiploads could begin before the ships actually arrived. Sending accompanying documents before the actual transport of goods was the reason for the success of this express service. In 2002 DHL was taken over by Deutsche Post AG. After Deutsche Post already had the majority shareholding in the Danzas forwarding company in 1999, the three brands DHL, Deutsche Post and Danzas were combined into one global brand DHL as part of a re-branding (“3D integration”).
The models are therefore designed in the current design of the consignor. In order to live up to the term “climate neutral,” some of the delivery vans are now also used as electric vehicles.
