Put into service just recently, in December 2022, YL-ABM is one of the youngest A220 aircraft, of which no less than 42 examples belong to the fleet of Latvia-based airBaltic. No fewer than 80 destinations in Europe, Caucasus, the Middle East and Central Asia are now served. In addition, it is quite active in charter operations for other airlines. The early years of the A220, at that time still developed as the CSeries by Bombardier, as well as those of airBaltic were quite bumpy. It is all the more astonishing how aircraft and airline have now more than established themselves in commercial aviation.
