Already condemned as to having no future, Airbus largest aircraft has made a comeback of sort. After the severe disruption of commercial aviation caused by the Covid pandemic, no one dared to believe for a long time that the Airbus A380 would ever take off again. Entire fleets of the super-jumbo were mothballed. This was also the case with D-AIMK, which was put into storage for three years from March 2020, and only in mid-2023 was put back into service, as one of currently five of the original 14 A380s delivered to Lufthansa.
