Matze emigrated to the south years ago to make his dream come true. He spends most of his life in the open air. As a multi-instrumentalist and solo entertainer, he is always at the centre of things. His jeans, boots, a white shirt and his instruments – that’s all Matze has, and he doesn’t need any more. During the day, he plays for tourists in the busy squares, enchanting them with the sounds of his guitar. Besides the guitar, he can operate the drums on his back and he occasionally also blows the horn. This means he is assured of tax-free income in the form of donations. When he plays the harmonica around the campfire in the evening, girls’ hearts melt, and he doesn’t have to worry about finding a place to stay overnight.
