Fire brigade - Flatbed lorry (Hanomag L 28).
The fire service relied on the express lorry from Lower Saxony
Fire brigades always relied on the vehicle from Lower Saxony. No wonder that in many places the Hanomag L 28 supplemented the firemen’s vehicle pool as a support vehicle. It often had a second life there after the municipal building yard had decommissioned the much-loved, versatile express lorry. Initially engineered for 1.5 ton payloads, subsequent versions were able to handle 3 tons of payload – the diesel engines initially had 50 HP, and later delivered 65 HP and 70 HP. The top-selling Hanomag diesel was naturally the flatbed truck, which was then able to secure its place in the fire stations.
