VW T1 (Type 2) box van 'Doornkaat'
Bulli with a distinctly Northern German soul
A genuine Eastern Frisian, the VW T1 Type 2 is also a miniaturised version of a global classic that rose to fame in the years of Germanys Economic Miracle. The thirst for consumption that set in after World War II provided an enormous boost to the business of Doornkaat AG. During the boom at the end of the 1960s the clear liquor from the North, marked by the legendary Doornkaat man holding the brand's signature green square bottle, even become renowned in commercials on TV. Advertising with the slogan Doornkaat - loved hot and drunk cold, the Doornkaat AG landed a smash hit in northern region of Eastern Frisia. The traditional model makers are now joined by two classics, the VW T1 Type 2 and the Doornkaat - a meaningful triangular relationship.
